The Greatest Baseball Players of all Times
4 March 2007It is hard to compare the baseball players of different eras, due to the amount of players that have played the game. Anyway, here is a list of the baseball players that can be considered the top 10 baseball players of all time:
You can find the new rating system, along with each players total win share:
- Babe Ruth is the first with 758 win shares and comes out as the best ever.
- Followed by Ted Williams whose 728 win shares extrapolated for the years, he is second only to Ruth.
- Ty Comb and Willie Mays are considered to be on the same position. Comb had 726 total win shares and Mays had 642 total win shares. Mays finished only 25 shares behind Comb but adjusting for the time line these two seem about even. The opened question is about who was the greatest all around ever.
- Hank Aaron had 643 win shares, while Honus Wagner finished with 655 total win shares, but the time line favors Aaron.
- Star Musial had 604 win shares. Even thought he could have finished even higher than Hank Aaron, his career was blurred by allegations of steroid use.
- Tris Speaker collected 633 win shares and was shadowed by Cob and Ruth.
- Michey Mantle finished 565 win shares. Mantle was the best player in the league every year from 1954-1964, except for 1963. He was still posting good numbers when he retired at the age of 36. You can select your favorite baseball player from this top list, since they were all remarkable sportsmen.

I was reading the article on the best baseball players ever! It became very hard to finish the article considering it looks as though a fifth grader wrote it! How do you post an article mispelling our greatest baseball heroes? For instance Ty Comb, Star Musial and Michey Mantle. It’s Ty Cobb, Stan Musial and Mickey Mantle! To some this may not be of any importance. However, I feel it is a complete and obvious lack of carrying and respect by its author! For your future articles I would suggest using a thing called spell check. Hell, at best know enough about the baseball heroes your discussing in your articles!
